I’ve been described as miserable, affable, partisan, funny, a fat cunt, brilliant, a belligerent cunt and meticulous (which I think was just a polite way of calling me a pedant). We all have good and bad days, right? Does this influence my photography? Probably.

My photographic style follows an approach of looking then seeing, frequently producing images that have their foundations in my preference for structure and order. As in life, as in photography.

A fondness for cheap eats, even cheaper beer and nooks of intrigue takes me to areas and neighbourhoods that ooze a lack of sophistication and comfort but offer sparkling opportunities for the photographic eye.

Images from the ten years I spent in Vietnam (2011 – 2021) feature heavily on my website. Living amongst local communities gave me a unique insight into a complicated, chaotic, exhilarating country and its people, not to mention daily exposure to a living, breathing photography ‘studio’.

Now based in the UK, I continue to meander, wander and explore, bringing the same eye to fresh situations and environments.
